The Olympic Charter is the codification of the Fundamental Principles, Rules and Bye-laws adopted by the International Olympic Committee. It governs the organisation and running of the Olympic Movement and sets the conditions for the celebration of the Olympic Games.

This publication compiles all the most important texts regarding Ethics, for the IOC and the Olympic Movement constituents.

The IOC Annual Reports include a comprehensive account of all the activities of the IOC during the previous year and outline efforts put in place to increase transparency, improve governance and set higher ethical standards. They also include the Auditors Report and the financial statements.

The Olympic Solidarity and NOC Services Annual Report 2021 illustrates how solidarity is at the heart of the Olympic Movement and the NOCs’ activities, and how the Olympic Solidarity and NOC Relations team supported these efforts.

Thanks to the IOC’s Olympic broadcast partners, more than a quarter of the world's population watched the action in PyeongChang, with their various new media platforms helping to make these the most digitally viewed Olympic Winter Games ever so far. The invaluable support and commitment of the Worldwide Olympic Partners also made it possible for PyeongChang 2018 to open up New Horizons and inspire a new generation with the Olympic spirit. The IOC’s marketing partners played an invaluable role in making the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 such a resounding success.

The success of Rio 2016 owes much to the support of our Olympic Partners, who provide essential resources to help broadcast, promote, fund and stage each edition of the Olympic Games. In 2017, the IOC launched a comprehensive review of the current state of gender equality in the Olympic Movement, with a mandate to produce action-oriented recommendations for change. The result is the IOC Gender Equality Review Project (2018). The report is available here.
