“Sport and Urbanism: The City as Playground”

In support of the exhibition "Riding the Olympic Wave", The Olympic Museum will host talks that explore the themes of the exhibition.

"Sport and Urbanism: The City as Playground" addresses how sports fit into urban environments and how cities are increasingly built around them. The point of views of athletes, and of the designers of public spaces (urban planners, architects and engineers), shows the immense impact that new sports have on cities & vice versa.

This event is moderated by Anne-Chantal Rufer, Architect, member of the association "Ville-en-tête". The participants are:

  • Julien Glauser, social anthropologist, museologist and urban planner, assistant curator at the Musée d'ethnographie de Neuchâtel (MEN);
  • Cyril Vouilloz aka Rylsee, artist, designed the impressive ramp placed in front of the Olympic Museum,
  • Antoine Le Menestrel, climber, vertical dancer and choreographer;
  • Jérôme Heim, sociologist, scientific associate at the Haute école de gestion HES-SO, researcher in participative urban planning;

Language : The talk will take place in French.

Price: Free admission. An aperitif will be offered after the conference.
