Charlie Woods is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his father, golf legend Tiger Woods when he competes in a PGA Tour pre-qualifier at Lost Lake Golf Club, Florida this week.

The teenager is bidding for a ticket to the Cognizant Classic, scheduled to take place from 29 February to 3 March.

To secure a spot in the PGA Tour event, Charlie Woods must first advance from the pre-qualifier to Monday’s qualifier.

Only four qualifiers will progress into the Cognizant Classic, according to pgatour.com.

Tiger Woods and his son have competed together in the last four PNC Championships, where they finished in second place three years ago.

48-year-old Tiger Woods boasts 82 PGA Tour wins, a record he shares the record with Sam Snead for the most wins all time.
