Snow Sport Stadiums (Mountain Cluster)

The Alpensia Sliding Centre is a venue located in the Sports Park in PyeongChang. It was used for sliding events during the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018. The total length is 2,018m, which stands for the opening year of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. The altitude difference is about 120m, the highest in the world. There are seven facilities including four starting houses, one finish house, and one training track. Currently, it is owned by Gangwon Province and operated by Gangwondo Development Corporation. As a legacy from the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, the venue has been used by the general public (tourist start house) and by national athletes for training in the winter season.

Sliding Center

Disciplines: Biathlon, Cross Country Skiing and Nordic Combined

Capacity: 4,060 seats (Stand: 3,560 with standing room for 500)

Cross-Country skiing will be held at Alpensia Biathlon Center, not Alpensia Cross-Country Skiing Center during the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024.

As Biathlon deals with both Cross-Country Skiing and shooting, the venue is comprised of Cross-Country Skiing course, shooting range, stand, and building with two ground floors and one basement floor. Currently, it is owned by Gangwon Province and operated by Gangwondo Development Corporation. The venue is used for training among national athletes in all seasons. Biathlon, Cross-Country and Nordic Combined events will be held at Alpensia Biathlon Center. The course has a length of 4 km, 3.3 km, 3 km, 2.5 km, 2 km and 1.5 km, and a width of 8m. The maximum altitude difference is 47m (minimum altitude 749m, maximum altitude 796m). The shooting range is 82.5×50m.

Biathlon Center

Capacity: 50,000 seats (Stand: 11,000 with standing room for 39,000)

The Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre is located at Sports Park in PyeongChang, which is the only Ski Jumping Center in Korea that can be used in all seasons. Among five ski-jumps, K125 was used for Men and K98 for women during the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018. K98 will be used for the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024. The venue has a capacity of 11,000 seats and can accommodate 50,000 people including standing area. For additional facilities, there are basic house, jump tower, and referee tower. Currently, the venue is owned by Gangwon Province and operated by Gangwondo Development Corporation, The venue is mostly used for training among national athletes. Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined events will be held at the Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre.

Ski Jumping Center

The Jeongseon High 1 Ski Resort is a resort complex located near the Youth Olympic Village Jeongseon High 1. It is one of the three major ski resorts in Korea, opened in December 2006. There are 18 slopes in total and the resort has an experience of hosting the 2019 ISMF Asian Ski Mountaineering Cup. Approx. 200 male and female athletes will train and compete in Alpine Skiing events and Dual Moguls. Apollo 4 and Apollo 6 will be used for Alpine Skiing while Hera 3 for Dual Moguls.

The Hoengseong Welli Hilli Park Ski Resort  is located in Hoengseong and was opened in December 1995 with a total of 20 slopes.The resort has experience of hosting 2004 and 2008 Snowboard World Cup, 2009 Snowboard World Championships due to a number of advanced slopes and good quality of snow, and has the best halfpipe course in Korea. Approx. 264 male and female athletes will compete in Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard events (Halfpipe, Slope Style, Big Air, Cross). Challenge 5 will be used for Slope Style and Big Air, Bravo 1 for Cross. Halfpipe event will be held in the center of the ski slopes.

Capacity: 7,612 seats (7,500 with 112 for the disabled)

Gangneung Oval is an indoor venue located in Gangneung Olympic Park. The venue was completed in March 2017 and was used for speed skating events during the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018. The venue has two basement floors and two ground floors, and has a 400m double track with a capacity of 7,600 seats. Currently, it is used for other purposes such as a filming studio and a youth camp.

Capacity: 12,020 seats (11,898 with 122 for the disabled)

Gangneung Ice Arena is an indoor venue where figure skating/short track events are held. It was completed in December 2016 to be used for the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018. The venue has two basement floors and four ground floors, and has two ice rinks (60×30m) with a capacity of 12,000 seats. Currently, the basement rink has transformed to a swimming pool opened to the public, and the main rink is used for cultural purposes such as a concert hall after installing wooden floor.

Gangneung Hockey Centre is an indoor venue located in Gangneung Olympic Park. It was completed in March 2017 and was used for ice hockey center during the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018. The main center has three ground floors with a total floor area of 30,59㎡. The training center has two ice rinks(60m * 30m) with a total area of 5,717㎡, accommodating 10,000 seats. The venue is owned by Gangwon Province and operated by Gangwondo Development Corporation.

Gangneung Hockey Center

Gangneung Curling Center is an indoor venue located in Gangneung Olympic Park. After the construction in 1998, it was used as an ice hockey center during the 1999 Winter Asian Games, and hosted the 2001 Short Track World Championships. During the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, the venue was used to hold curling events after remodeling. The venue has one basement floor and four ground floors, and has four curling sheets with a capacity of 3,500 seats. The basement rink was used as a training rink for ice sports during the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, and are currently used by the public all year.

Youth Olympic Village High 1
